One of the first paying gigs for Axe
Band members were Greg Manahan, Mark Murtha, Jeff Craun (guitar), Jim Webb (drums), and John Watilo (bass).

1981 - 133 at North Kansas City High School
This was Greg and Mark's first band after high school. Bass player Dan Carpowich arranged for us to play an all-school assembly at NKC High School.

Original founding members of London Drive were Shane Proctor, Mark Murtha, Barbara Bowman, John Watilo, and Jim Lovich.

1982 - The Syndiquet
Meanwhile, future London Drive keyboard player Joe Fopeano was playing bass in a group called The Syndiquet. This photo was taken in a local bar called "The Insect Lounge."

1992 - London Drive dons boots (on ice)
I'm not sure of the exact year of this promo shot, but it was after the "goofy era" had ended. An agent advised us to abandon the shinguards and wear boots. We were advised to "Plant and Play." It turned out to be bad advice.

1998 - The Uptown Theater (New Year's Eve)

1999 - The Uptown Theater
We had Barbara Ely and Lisa Brenton helping out with the vocals at this show.

1999 - Beamer's Garage
Check out Carl's groovy hairdo!

1999 - 10/9/99 - The Roxy

2000 - 5/2000 - Van Show
This raucous event was a prime opportunity for the band to utilize their best stage props!

2000 - Beamer's Garage
This was the last London Drive show for Carl and Joe. Carl later joined Monkey Finger.

2000 - New Lineup
Darren Walker replaced Carl on vocals. Darren also played bass, which allowed Greg to start playing guitar on some songs. Mark began playing more keyboards at this point.
